With more than 18 years of experience in community services, I bring deep practical knowledge and a grounded understanding of the sector to my consulting work.
My career has included frontline practice, management, and executive leadership roles, giving me a clear view of how individuals, teams, and systems operate and where meaningful change can occur.
My qualifications in social sciences, Men's behaviour Change, and counselling, combined with extensive experience in Men’s Behaviour Change and Alcohol and Other Drug interventions, allow me to offer informed, targeted support across complex practice areas.
I use this experience to provide practical guidance, reflective supervision, and tailored solutions that strengthen safety, accountability, and service quality.
At Joel Palmer Consulting, my focus is on helping practitioners, organisations, and individuals build capability, improve outcomes, and respond to harm with clarity and confidence.
My work is grounded in a commitment to community, a belief in evidence-informed practice, and a genuine desire to support positive, sustainable change.
I look forward to working with you.
I completed my Bachelor in Social Science (Psychology) in 2008 through Charles Sturt University, Bathurst.
Being passionate about social change, I utilised free time volunteering with children whose parents were incarcerated, and working with people who had severe mental health needs.
This gave me both the academic and practical skills to begin my journey into the community services sector.
